Freestyle Academy proudly presents
Some inspiration behind this piece was our experiences doing online school so far. Along the way of making this song, our biggest challenge was obtaining a perfect balance between full volume of the original song with lyrics, versus a too quiet one with no lyrics at all. We eventually found this "sweet spot," that was the perfect mix of our own lyrics and the original lyrics of the song. If I were able to redo/spend more time on this project, I would focus more on making sure that the original sound wasn't overpowering our own lyrics, and I would also write more verses to the song, as we only had two, and there was definitely potential to add more. What I am most proud about in this parody is the way all our lyrics flow and match the beat of the song. It was initially hard to align all our lyrics with the song to make it sound like the original, but we eventually found the perfect alignment for each line.
Furthermore, I will use the ideas I learned from this parody to inspire my creativity, as during this project, we were a little unsure of where to start, but along the way we really found our groove, and had a lot of fun with it along the way. So, I will use this as a motivation when I feel I'm stuck in the creative aspect of a future project. This project changed the way I see others' art because it made me realize that art can come from a original take on others' work. You can easily take work from someone else and copy it, but it's the action of putting your own creative thoughts and decisions into it that make it unique.
